'I don't like it,' said the small boy.
'I don't like it,' said the small boy.
'What don't you like?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'Everything,' said the small boy.
'I don't believe you,' said the dishevelled little owl.
'It's true,' said the small boy.
(Pause.)
'Everything's stupid,' said the small boy.
'What do you mean?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'Everything's broken,' said the small boy.
'Is it?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'Nothing works like it's supposed to,' said the small boy.
'How is it supposed to?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
(Pause.)
'Well,' said the small boy. 'Just look!'
'I am looking...' said the dishevelled little owl.
'You see?' asked the small boy.
'See what?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'All the dumb and ugly stuff,' said the small boy.
‘I don’t see it,' said the dishevelled little owl.
(Pause.)
'You’re not looking properly,' said the small boy.
'I am looking properly...' said the dishevelled little owl.
‘What are you looking at?' asked the small boy.
‘You,' said the dishevelled little owl.
‘Why me?' asked the small boy.
