Skin

Skin

'I wish I had skin like a rhinoceros,' said the fuzzy teddy.
'Do you?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'I wish I had skin so thick,' said the fuzzy teddy,
'that nothing could get in.'

'Do you, really?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'Yes, I do,' said the fuzzy teddy.

(Pause.)

'I wish I was as tough as old boots,' said the fuzzy teddy.
'Do you?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'And then, if life kicked me around,' said the fuzzy teddy,
'I wouldn't feel a thing.'
'Oh, dear!' said the dishevelled little owl.
'I know,' said the fuzzy teddy.

(Pause.)

'I wish I was as scary as a ghost,' said the fuzzy teddy.
'Do you?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'I wish I was big and grizzly,' said the fuzzy teddy.
'Do you, really?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'Yes, I do,' said the fuzzy teddy.
'I don't think you do,' said the dishevelled little owl.
