'That's a big heart you've got there,' said the dishevelled little owl.
'Ugh,' said the cap boy.
'It's so hard to manage.'
'It's so hard to manage.'
'Why?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'It runs away with me,' said the cap boy.
'All the time.'
(Pause.)
'How so?' asked the dishevelled little owl.
'I go here,' said the cap boy.
'It goes there.
'I hear this,
'it hears that.
'It sees things I don't even notice.'
(Pause.)
The dishevelled little owl sighed.
'Hearts never go where we tell them to go
'and they're always, but always, right.
'The best way to manage a heart,' she said,
'is simply
'to do as it says.'
'All the time.'
(Pause.)
