‘never the same again kind of change,' said the small girl.

'Have you ever made a change like that?'

(Pause.)

‘But then,' said the small girl, 'you’re an owl.’ 

‘True…’ said the dishevelled little owl.

‘And owls are wise...’ she said.

‘Yes,’ said the dishevelled little owl.

(Pause.)

‘So I suppose you never have to make changes

‘because you always make the right choices

‘in the first place,' she said.

‘Would that be right?’

(A longer pause.)

‘I have made changes…’ said the dishevelled little owl.

She thought a bit.

‘What happened?’ asked the small girl.

‘Things changed,’ said the dishevelled little owl.
