The rumpledy feet

March 12, 2017
Today this disheveled little owl held a competition between her hair and her face and her fingernails and her feet (and all her other owly-bits) to decide which was the most rumpledy. Her feet won the competition's grand title (hands down) because of their consistently disheveled performances at dance classes and dance parties. The Rumpledy Competition judges noted that all the feet attending these events are regularly dressed in high heels decorated with spangles (dazzling) or two-tone patent leather slip-ons (elegant) or Converse sneakers (cool) and that in the midst of all this Foot-Fancying Fashion the little owl's black dance slippers have holes in the soles (again) and separating seams (again) and are neither dazzling nor elegant (with not a squidgin of cool.) And while this little owl's slippers let her feet move very quickly (more quickly that her legs ever could) they DO make her soles hurt. (Oh how they make her soles hurt.) (Perhaps, the little owl is now wondering, there is a requirement for socks. Perhaps, she is thinking, there is a requirement for NEW dance slippers. Or perhaps this little owl needs foot-advice from The Beautiful Dance Instructor about better foot management and twinkle toe care.) (Perhaps.)
