The fashion statement

This disheveled little owl is working to fix her five-minutes-late-habit and so when the slippery five minutes slipped away (yet again) and she needed to be at lunch she flew upstairs to her bedroom, pulled off her for-her-eyes-only-clothes then pulled on the-little-dress-that-she-always-wears (both as fast as she could.) She fluffed her hair and put on her gold-threaded slippers (for presentation's sake) and drove (much faster than she likes to admit.) When she arrived (exactly on time) her friend hugged her and looked down at the disheveled little owl's dress and arranged her face as she inspected it. Then later at the petrol station the Indian man with the kind eyes looked at the little owl's dress and arranged HIS face as he inspected it. (And then, everywhere the little owl went for the rest of the day people looked at her dress and arranged their faces as they inspected.) That night, as the little owl climbed the stairs to her bedroom and looked forward to her pyjamas she thought back on the day's curiosities. She turned on the light and in the mirror her reflection looked back at her. It inspected her dress and arranged its face. She inspected ITS dress and arranged HER face. They were wearing their dresses back to front.
