The car park problem

December 29, 2016
This disheveled little owl pulled into a parking space in front of the fruit shop just as a man with a shopping bag and a cool-cat smile came out. He stopped to watch her park. (Which made her feel very self-conscious.) Then he inspected the way she'd placed the car. (Which ruffled her feathers a little.) And then he looked up and smiled as though there couldn't possibly have been a better place for the disheveled little owl to have landed in all the known universe. (Which surprised her considerably.) After THAT, he looked SO delighted that the little owl started to feel EQUALLY delighted and so she gave him a big thumbs up just because she felt the situation deserved it. He waved and laughed and went on his way. The little owl got out of the car and checked in front of it and behind it and under it and all around it. Everything was just as it should be and so, feeling tickled, she went inside and bought bananas and pineapple and mint. (And then, when she asked herself WHY she should feel so tickled by her parking adventure, she found she had no idea.)
